I am an actor, and as such, I was called upon, when my school was performing Alice in Wonderland, to take charge as more the student director, and play The Mad Hatter. I must say that, if given the choice, I would have preferred to play Hatter Maddigan instead;) , but that's beside the point!
Anyway, I also filled in for all the characters at least once, including all three Queens (it combined Through the Looking Glass and Wonderland), as well as The Cheshire Cat (who's voice and actions were based on American McGee's when I was him during practices:p ) and The Duchess and her Cook! It was a lot of fun and all, which made me wonder:
If you could be ONE character, or there was ONE character you related to the most in either Wonderland or Looking Glass Land (from the original stories) who would it be?
Then, take that and compare it to who you relate to in The Looking Glass Wars, and tell me what you think!
Original Story: I relate to The Mad Hatter! He is crazy, and sees things upside and backwards, yet to others like him, he makes perfect sense!
Looking Glass Wars: I would imagine myself being more like Dodg. He wanted so had to be noble, but ends up doubting his morals and ideas, kinda like what happened to me about halfway through high school.

OK, since you're talking about comparing AiW and LGW characters, I jsut want to point out one major difference between them:
In LGW, everyone in Wonderland loves Alyss except the bad guys. They all love her, trust her, and worship her as their queen. However, in AiW, all the Wonderland characters seem to find Alice annoying; they order her around, argue wit her, insult her, make condescending comments and sarcastic remarks to her - and she makes sarcastc remarks back!
But I digress:
Original Stories: Probably Alice herself. I guess both of us want to stay a child forever, yet have a slight urge to grow up, and both of us are curious and want to explore new places. OK, I'm a guy, but still.
American McGee's Alice: The Jabberwock. Definately the Jabberwock, thus the screenname. His role in the game gives him as a character more potential than say, Bowser from Mario. In a way, he's one of the game's most important characters, his voice is utterly chilling, and yet, I think that he must be doing this because of some horrible feeling or anger, and the landers think of him as evil through word of mouth.
LGW: Um...Jack of Diamonds? Jack of Diamonds is probably the best LGW has got in terms of villains; Redd is a wee bit too generic (McGee's evil Red Queen is way better). Plus he has a poofy wig - I want a poofy wig. And both of us like eating a lot.
Speaking of which, when s Beddor going to post the recipe for tarty tarts? He said he tried them and they're his favourite food, so why won't he share?

Hmm...
American McGee's Alice: The Cheshire Cat, hence MY screen name. I love giving cryptic advice, but I prefer to be a bit realistic and efficient. I'll advise people, but I rarely do anything to help otherwise. People should tend to themselves, though I'll gladly provide company as they work their way to what they want.
LGW: Also, the Cat. Vicious, cruel, sadistic, and HATES to admit failure. We both can be a bit deceptive at times as well, if only to save our own skins.
Original: Yep. The Cheshire Cat. Random, usually advising, and often misunderstood (though we both tend to do that on purpose). I love being the devil's advocate and seeing people get in trouble, no matter how innocent they are. It's so much fun to watch.

Can i join in?
Erm, i'd say i was probably Alyss in all three, well at least in AiW and LGW. in AiW, she is a girl lost in a world that she wants to make sense of, and at the end is just trying to find her way home ( im a bit of a home bird see) and in LGW when Alyss falls through the Pool of Tears it is the same thing. She is in our world, and she is lost trying to make sense of where she is and not understanding that world at all. Many people feel that they dont understand the workings of a world, me especially, and want more than anything to go to a world where imagination is given free reign rather than being contained.
I havent really playing American Mcgees Alice, only watched.

i'd say in both AIW & LGW i would have to be The Hatter.
The Mad Hatter has so much class with the unbirthday parties and all
Hatter Madigan is like the Snake Eyes (GI Joe) of Wonderland, and that's bad ass
General Doppel

i'd definitely be tweedledum in aiw, chesire in amaiw, and hatter madigan in lgw. Yea, if you can't tell, I"m sorta straight to the point.

Ooh, ooh, ohh, I know this one! Erm... No I don't... To be perfectly honest, I haven't the foggiest my dears.... possibly the March Hare in AiW/TtLG or something... nah, I'm probbaly one of the cards... or maybe the sheep lady...
*cough* OK, I'll be more serious. To tell you the truth, I'm probably the White Rabbit/Bibwit. I'm generally running around like a mad thing trying to do umpteen things at once, however, I'm very rarely late, so that blows that theory straight out of the water. I did play him in a pantomime once though (the White Rabbit, not Bibwit), which was fun, but I roasted to death in the furry trousers....
I don't know, really, that's just something that you'll have to decide for yourselves if you get to know me better...

I have portrayed the Queen of Hearts in two separate productions, perhaps I was type cast. I can't say that it's far from the truth, but one single character doesn't quite do it for me, but Bibwit Harte is the closest in LGW. The Cheshire Cat is probably the closest from Carroll's AiW.
The White Knight

I'm more of the Catepillar in both books. I give sagely advice, a philosopher at heart, and smoke herbal and clove cigarettes.... if I could blow smoke into words, I would.

My own experiences with Alice have been mostly literary. I've done several papers on Alice, by way of Kirsteva theory as Alice being the poet. I also run a modern fairy tale game (rpg pen and paper style) with a moderated home-brew system based around Alice in Wonderland.
I quite enjoy analyzing Alice, both texts, and read a lot of psychology and theory behind children's lit. So while it's amazing you can act them out (I never was much of an actor) I take my pleasure in knowing everything I can about it.
As far as which character I am; I'm not certain. Perhaps the Mad Hatter? In McGee's I prefer the Cheshrie Cat, albeit his head explodes most ungracefully. My friends say I'm most like the cheshire cat because of my random ways and often off-beat sense of humour. But that's what happens when you're a nerd, I suppose. C'est la vie.
Cheshire's Spade

Oh gee, Umm...
AiW: Deffinately the Gryphon, beast of earth and sky, kinda a jack of all trades...
LGW: Maybe a pawn? One of the guys in the background that could oneday checkmate? Who knows
AMA: The Cheshire Cat, full of cryptic knowledge.

AiW: The Chesire Cat. He's so out there, just like me.
LGW: Alyce Heart, definetely without question. (Hatter Madigan is my second choice)
McGee's Alice: The Chesire Cat is again quite cool.
Alyss of Hearts

Get a laugh out of this the guy who wrote Alices Adventures in Wonderland was Lewis Caroll in real life.
The book was written for a girl named Alice and her sisters had the same names as Alyss' adopted sisters in the book.

Alyss of Hearts

In Alices Adventures in Wonderland I would be the White Rabbit.
In American McGees Alice I would be the Cheshire Cat.
In The Looking Glass Wars I would be Alyss.

My first post here ^^ (pleased i found this site!) anyways...
In "AAU/AAIW/TTLG" : I'd be Alice! My curiosity would have me follow the rabbit to the ends of the universe, if only to find an answer. And nothing would seem out of the odinary, as i tend to accept things as they are, where others would think it odd :)
In Disney "AIW" : Definatly the March Hare! As mad as a hatter, and twice as crazy. I love Tea.
In "AMA" : Hmm...probably Alice again... we all go through dark spots in life, some of us more than others, and i think in our minds, we can feel like we're falling into a deep dark spiraling abyss, with no hope of reaching the surface again. I have always battled my way through all the monsters life has thrown at me for as long as i can remember, and no matter how many "Red Queens" we defeat, theres always another dark wonderland just around the corner ^_~
In "LGW" : I must confess, i havent read the book yet, i only just discovered this site (but im *definatly* getting it next payday, heh) From what i have read online though, im stuck between two characters. My first Choice is Dodge... not that i know much about him, only that he and i love Alice, haha. Second choice would have to be Redd... because for some reason, although quite innocent at heart, theres a large part of me loves to be the villain, all-powerful, and in control, with legions of minions/followers.. for some reason, in online RP, im usually always the bad guy in the stories, haha. However, these choices may change when i get to read the book :)
Btw (i know off topic..) i couldnt help but notice the character in love with Alyss is named Dodge... does that seem to anyone else like another dig at Carroll's/Dodgson's relationship with Alice Liddell? :) Just wondering your thoughts on that ^^

AIW: The Cheshire Cat-Simply because he knows everything, but only tells what needs to be said.
LGW: General Doppel, No General Ganger, Maybe General Doppleganger. Only because he has two distinct parts to him that make him whole. I should have said Dodge or maybe the Walrus Butler.
Her Imperial Viciousness

Off. With. Her. Head.
I think that summarizes my answers plenty enough. :)
Though I can't say a stint as the White Rabbit or even The Cat would hurt.
