View Full Version : I would like to Introduce Myself
Queen Alice
02-09-2007, 12:05 PM
Hello People of the Looking Glass Wars Forum. My name is Miss Ashley Renee; however, Bootabegga or Queen Alice (QA, for short) are all completely fine and acceptable names. :) I honestly have yet to read this here book that has come to be; however, I found this site quite some time ago. I am happy to see how many people are interested in Alice, her adventures, and the twisted reality/fantasy of such adventures.
About myself... hm, I am a seventeen year old lady from the states (Pennsylvania to be exact). I have been reading and watching, collecting and reciting, acting and being Alice since I was a very little girl. I play pretend still, and I do not mind if people know. I cosplay and am interested in anime. I will be attending college soon, and I hope to double-major in History/Political Science with a concentration in Gender Studies and a double minor with Japanese and Psychology. Oh, yes, there is much to be done.
:-P
I look forward to speaking to everyone more frequently, and I hope I am accepted into this amazing world that has been created.
It shall be my pleasure.
-Queen.

Very nice to meet you Queen Alice. I am very surprised and pleased to find someone so similar to myself on here. I am a 16 year old southern belle who also has an affinity for playing pretend. Though I am ashamed to admit that I did not become interested in Alice until I recentally read The Looking Glass Wars. Which, I must absolutely recommend you read. I am also quite interested in anime, though unfortunately my extra-curricular packed life thoroughly prevents me from being able to enjoy it. I intend to co-major in Journalism/Spanish or Political Science/Spanish (and or international affairs), though I have some time yet to decide as to which I prefer. Of course, naturally, considering my possible career as a journalist, I LOVE to write and do so quite often. You may just find yourself reading a fanfic of mine someday if they ever add that particular section to this site. If not, then I hope that you will read something of mine sometime in the future anyway, if I ever do become a journalist.
While I realize that you were here before I was I still would like you to know that I do, in fact, accept you into this world.
Until we meet again I must assure you that the pleasure is all mine. :)

Your Majesty! *curtsies deeply* An honour to make your acquaintance, my liege.
Might I introduce myself? Lady Melisma Acetyl of the House of Spades at your service, a courtier of the palace, and of course one of your most loyal subjects! I am a practitioner of the arts; drawing and painting when the inclination arises, but mostly writing both fan and original works. Thankfully, I'm a Creative Writing student, with a side emphasis on History and English, so storywriting in class is a given!
I came into the world of the Looking Glass Wars long ago when it was first published, back in 2004. I was born in England, still have family there, and happened to be visiting my people when I spotted the odd mass of holographic book covers in the window of the bookshop. Curiosity won over, and I later left the shop with my first copy, the hardback edition. That one went missing later on (I suspect my cousin, the thieving treacherous rouge!). Eventually I replaced it with a softbound copy, albeit one signed by Mr Beddor, so not a complete loss!
To the ladies of the American South, from your Canadian cousin,
Melisma
PS. LostinWonderland, most fanfic for LGW has been posted under the regular AIW section in the Books category. Some searching and sifting is required to unearth them, though in my honest opinion, few are longer than 5000 words and nearly none are of truly excellent quality.

I was going to say hello to Queen Alice (Quote:(may she live forever)) but then i read the other posts and my intended message seemed very trivial to the deeply moving conversation going on.
I myself am a 13year old lady from the UK. I enjoy reading, writing and surfing the net. I have a young sister who spends most of her free time annoying me. I have a very voring life and you are all so lucky that i have to go and don not have time to give you my life story which was what i intended to do.
*Bows* Good-day to you. Ladies and Sirs

QA, I am forever your servant. Redd mistreated this poor kitten and so I ran away to the safe-haven of these forums. You may call me Cheshie, as my friends call me. I'm a free-lance writer and poet. I've been working on a series called Living in Wonderland, which is somewhat based off of Alice and her accquaintances. If you'd ever like to read it (this goes for anybody here), please send me a message and I'll link you to it. I bought my wonderful copy of the book at the Phoenix-Cactus Comicon in January 2007 where it was signed by Mr. Beddor, as well as a Hatter M poster, also signed (however this was obtained at Comicon 2006, seeing as how I had no money then). I do hope you enjoy your stay in the forums, my Queen. -curtsies-

Greetings, and goodwill to you, Queen Alice.
You and everyone else may simply refer to me as "3". I'm afraid I lack a suit; for reasons I decline to discuss, I was, in the past, barred from continued service- but no matter.
Welcome:)
