You can't really expect a book to have too many followers. Or people with time enough to join a forum.

Well look at Harry Potter.

Also, I don't know if you've heard of the fairly recent author Stephenie Meyer, but she has quite the cult following. Girls are flying thousands of miles simply to meet her. Adult women throw extravagant parties for her books- there is actually a Prom coming up in May.

We can't really compare LGW with Harry Potter, as much as I hate to say it. I do think that this book deserves a better following... I've been recommending it to everyone, to that end. Who the heck is Stephanie Meyer?

Like I said, she's very new but has a huge following considering the fact that she is a new author.

still..lgw is such a good book, only if people could realize that. And if you think a book can't get that much, go to teddekker.com

Ted Dekker rocks! But I think this forum is seriously competing.
(Maybe it wasn't a long time ago... in a galaxy far far away... when you posted that. :p

Yeh Stephenie Meyer has a quite a big following. Her Twilight series is about vampires and there are multiple forums with all sorts of discussions and the first book could be getting made into a movie aswell. But we shall see.

Yes but it is much better than when it first started. It seemed like you had to wait weeks for a new post.

Maybe it's just that it hasn't had as much publicity as say Harry Potter did?

i have no idea but i though i might add to the conversation :p

Yeah, because Harry Potter has been out longer. Maybe LGW just needs more time.

Hmm, I happen to say that even if something has a small following doesn't mean that it's a sad thing.. >.< and sometimes even the larger followings suck (Such as some really poorly done animes). But I don't think it matters the size of the following, as long as some people find the gem.

And I don't know if that made sense, but maybe it did.. V.V

At least you lot can all post around similar times. I have to hang around through the midnight hours to have a convo on here. And even then it's hit and miss...

I Hate harry potter with a burning passion. The looking glass wars is a great book that ties in with alice in wonderland. Harry potter is a highly over rated book in my opinion.

Building up a fan base for a book takes time. As everyone here seems to be telling other people about LGW it should be building popularity alittel. when you think about it . I've told several of my friends about it. I'm trying to post more offten but its hard in my busy life

Harry Potter didn't immediately take off either. It took time and had criticism at the start as well as LGW.

I've told so many people to read these books and not one has :( It makes me very sad....

I've only read the 1st Harry Potter book, but people are making too big a deal out of them for me to finish off the series

I read harry Potter.. and after the last book I was kind of like.. "Damn, that's how it ended... That's so anticlimactic."

It was kind of like bad sex actually..

(and if anyone is offended by the last comment I will delete it without any qualms.)
