Tweedledum and Tweedledee comes into existance when narrator quotes the nursery rhyme.

The Queen of Heart's trial is about the Knave of Hearts and his stealing her tarts, and Alice takes on the role of a witness. Alice hides the two, five, and seven of clubs so that they will not be beheaded. The Gryphon tells Alice that executions ordered by the Queen are rarely carried out. Disney version took liberties on all these thing in the book, and then some.

Strangely, in my copy of LGW, that's exactly how Lewis Carroll's name is spelled in the 'Word of Warning' bit at the beginning of the book.

I think Mr. Madigan posted this as a moderately sized piece of trivia for those who like to know the little things that sometimes are relevant and influence a story. Of course, it does take some time, but you have to admit it was worth it . ;)

Wow to be taken!!!...

Single life is escaping me, everyone is getting married...
Oh to be Mr. Taken... then I would have a Miss taken...

Miss Frankie, I would explain that one but then nobody would learn anything...
and this "nobody" person is mighty smart from all the lessons he has been learning.

The riddle also has several other answers, since it was never intended to have one. My favorite answer is: Because both begins with a B. It just seems to fit the madness of it all.

Why is a Raven like a writing desk?

Because Poe wrote on both.
(Edgar Allen Poe to be exact)

lol I saw that in another book once and I laughed my head off. I thought it seemed to fit.

here are some more ansers to why is a raven like a writing desk?(not made up by me i fond them at this one site online)

Because the notes for which they are noted are not noted for being musical notes

bills and tales are among their characteristics.

because they both stand on their legs.

Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front! Note the clever misspelling of nevar so it is "raven" spelled backwards

A warning to dining while at work - or a solution to the riddle "Why is a raven like a writing desk?"

Eat your supper off a writing desk and you will find,
The experience can be rather UNKIND.
For into your soup you might sink your bread,
And find it is covered in black ink instead!
So if you are RAVENous -
(And rather unstable),
You will find it is best to eat off a table.

Solution:-
The collective noun for ravens is an unkindness.
When you are hungry you are ravenous so thus if you are hungry at your writing desk the writing desk will be unkind to you as you sup.
Tables are often in nest, as are ravens (okay thats stretching it slightly!).
