300 is a great movie full of visual effects and graphics which made it different and much better.
Acting was great, director did a wonderful job and chose great actors, full of action, and it is based on a true story.

I saw this actually :) I really enjoyed it and the CGI was amazing.
Don't really remember much of the plot, I got a tad distracted by Gerard Butler's (Leonidas) six pack.
Has anyone else seen his amazing performace in the Phantom of the Opera movie?

*raises her hand* I have! My mates were drooling over him - I personally preferred Patrick Wilson's Raoul, but Gerrard is definitely an excellent actor. He also did a surprisingly competent job in the lead role, considering he wasn't a classically trained singer like Patrick and Emmy.

I know. I think him and Minnie Driver were the only ones in the whole movie that weren't classically trained. Minnie Driver had someone else doing all of her singing. I though he did a great job as the Phantom-there was so much emotion in that performance that just really made you feel sorry for the Phantom and everything that had happened to him

You know, I don't think I can single out any one favourite aspect of the production. Everything was top-notch, the costumes, the sets, the performances, the choreography, the music, the editing, the costumes... I said that already, didn't I?
^^ Sorry, I dabble in fashion design, so the film's visuals were a feast! Would you believe me if I said I would kill for some of those costumes?

I would definetly believe you-I adored Emmy Rossum's costume from The Point of No Return. It was a fantastic movie in my opinion :) I love the main Opera House set also, it was just stunning and the way they executed the chandelier crash was amazing to watch

Most definitely agree with you there! But shifting back to the original topic - I haven't seen 300 yet. Doubt I shall until it comes out on DVD... is it really as gory as some of my mates are claiming?

It's not really gory. It's only a 15 so they couldn't really go OTT with the gore but most of the blood was put in with CGI anyway-you can't really tell it's there :)

Yeah, I'm one of those squeamish types... Blood in large quantities (real or otherwise) tends to make me ill. It's why I left the biosciences/medical career path, I'm reading History now.

I know exactly what you mean
Me + Saw 3 which I watched last night = Not a good combo :D
That movie is AWFUL. The plot is pure genius but the 3rd movie is definetly the worst out of all 3

I just saw 300 this weekend. Yes. I know. I'm behind the times here. I was slightly disappointed in it. The artistic style was very cool and I loved Gerry Butler's performance, but it didn't live up to the hype for me. I could connect with any of the characters to care about their outcome. There wasn't much by the way of character development. I felt for KL and his wife. I suppose we were supposed to love and admire the Spartans as a whole and connect with them on that level. Just didn't work for me.
As for Saw 1-4. Bleh! Not my sort of movies...
