I managed to get an advance copy. I finished reading it already.

Holy ****. That was AWESOME. Not to demean the first book, but the second was a definite improvement in all aspects. Characterization, fights, plot, just wow. My favorite improvement: it is SO MUCH darker than the first. I was shocked how devious and bleak Beddor can be. My fangirlishness consumes me yet again.

You will NOT be disappointed.

I can't spoil it, but if you have questions, I'll answer them (unless they're critical to the plot). XD Just don't ask me about Molly.

your so lucky that you got to read it so soon i wish i had a copy anyway how did you get a copy so early? I thought it was supposed to come out on augest 21. is the book good or bad how would you rate it from one to ten ten being the best and one being the worst let me know:)

It's an advance, unedited copy. They usually send them to critics and newspapers or for campaigns. I don't know how many there are (though I know there are going to be 100,000 First Editions, I don't think they mean the advance copies are those copies), but I managed to buy one from someone who received it. Considering the seller is an author of his own book, I think it has something to do with the publisher distributing its products rather than critics.

Anyway, you guys are really going to love it. Hatter Madigan, King Arch, and Homburg Molly play much bigger roles than they did in the last book, and SEVERAL new characters (mostly villains) come in as well. Just a note: I ADORE Beddor for doing his research and getting such AWESOME names for the new villains. I'd rather avoid spoiling the names, but once it's released, I'll post the names and their origin. It's just one of those little detail things that made me love the book.

I'll also say this: A lot of the guesswork on the forum was RIGHT. You guys will be pleased to know that your musings and such were either really close or right on the nail. I won't say WHICH ones, but you'll see for yourselves. =)

One question I'd like to ask is: does Redd 'evolve' as a character? In Book 1, she just felt like a female version of Robotnik from the Sonic cartoons, and I've heard she develops beyond this in Book 2. Is she more sympathetic in SR?

I'm considering putting up the Spoiler thread on 8/21, the Amazon release date. If those with ARC copies would like to discuss it sooner, there may be warrant to change that, but I'm very adamant about not wanting to give too much away to folks, and well..forums are searchable and we don't want to accidentally spoil anybody TOO soon.

I just read SEEING REDD! Frank just hit a home run, great story line. A few main characters DIE, but you just have read the book to understand, Alyss's Imagination powers are quite AWESOME in this book. Alyss IS her Mother's daughter! YES! LONG LIVE QUEEN ALYSS and her sweet future husband! LOL Mitchie:)

note i do not have the book ( damn you all ;) WHAT IF Molly turns out to be the daughter of The Queen and Hatter some mix love. But if worng okay but Molly has to hatters daughter some how. I have not read the first book in a while but I don't remeber Beddor saying that the woman in the crysta that hatter was looking at was a normal or millanary( sorry for the misspell). Just food for thought.

Redd is not sympathetic in the book, but you do find out more about her past, especially with a background character from the last book. =)

As for Hatter and Molly, you'll just have to wait and see. It's pretty big in Seeing Redd.

Oh my god. I am so frustrated right now. I just spent AN HOUR at Barnes & Noble trying to get a copy. I literally enlisted the help of three employees to find a copy. THE STORE LOST THE BOOKS. They had six, sold 2, and had 1 on hold; but they lost the other three. They checked in the back, on the shelves, under 'Frank' for last name, in Fantasy, in Non-Fiction, in Children's, in YA. THEY LOST THEIR COPIES. So here's me sitting am my computer, angry because I wasted an hour and I didn't even get a copy. :mad:

Edit: More precisely, it's not a "Redd" spoiler. On top of that, I would not hold strong bets on what is going to happen next book this early in the game, because my guess is that said book is still being written, so even Frank B may be still developing the fates of our favorite characters.

This summer I went into a comic book/game store and saw a poster for The Looking Glass Wars. Upon inquiry, I discovered that there was a comic called Hatter M. Unfortunately, no, this comic store did not have it. Well, dang!

So... I trot back home, order Hatter M (all 4) and The Looking Glass Wars from The Looking Glass Wars website. I'm in the US, so I wait a long time and pay overseas freight.

Now, December has come and Beddor's books are in US stores. Well, I ordered the British paperback edition, so of course I must have the British paperback edition of Seeing Redd. Unfortunately, they never sent me an email announcing the new book. (Note to marketing.. must notify avid fans of new releases). And when I check the website, IT'S SOLD OUT! Blasphemy.

So, I scour the Earth in search of the perfect British paperback edition of Seeing Redd. Aha! Good old Amazon. But now I have to wait. I ordered. It's the British edition cover. But the shipping time appears delayed.

first they ordered alices adventures in wonderland and told me i still had to pay for the shipping costs and then when they fially ordered the right book they sent it back because i was in newcaslte and couldn't get it so after a third attept and a deifferent bookstore i got it

Bear in mind you have to start in San Francisco at 4 AM, but it is possible :D

I even went into a comic book store and asked... THIS is what the guy told me: "You see, Beddor's books and comics are Indy, which means that they print them is small batches. That makes then very difficult to find." Oh and they are import. :P The guy reminded me of Jack of Diamonds. Made me wanna scratch him.

YEAH!!! I just got Seeing Redd and so far very satisfying even better than the first. i started reading half the proloug and when i looked up i was really disorientated it just really drwas me in. the characters are so developed in S.R. in lgwi disliked molly but in the 2nd she is totally cool and in the first i hated it when Alyss turned into this unrelateable warrior queen almost as unemotional as hatter but in seeing redd she is very emotional (especially with dodge. :D)

Almsost done now... very good. battles r cool, all kinds of new weapons and stuff. also new characters i like ripkin and blister a lot. as usual, the suite fams r all traitors and idiotics (especially Jack of Diomons) and Redd is soooo evil!!! the romance w/ dodge and alyss is very satisfying, atleast so far, i havent gotten to the end yet so i dont know whats going to happen. i can't wait to talk on the spoiler thread!

ive been writing a book as well.
ive almost filled a seventy page notebook, filled a hundred page book and a fifty page book so about....220 pages, sorry to disapoint u Hatter. Co-authoring helps though, u shuld try it:D

My girlfriend and I read the book to each other in about a day and a half's time.. the only reason it took so long was because we kept having to stop! >.< lol
I loved the book though. The first was better in my opinion though.
