hi my names V.
im new to these forums, but ive been looking at the casting ideas... and i think they are good.
but dont you think that a blonde Alyss would completely negate the whole description about how she has long beautiful black hair? and it would go back onto the lines of Lewis carrols tale of 'Alice and her adventures in Wonderland.
a posible cast i could think of is
Alyss- kate beckinsale, or kristen stewart
dodge- elijah wood (old dodge)

ya see. the only problem with that is that Lewis Carrols "Alice in Wonderland" is a complete fabrication. A harsh misconstruing of the truth.

You know, there are those who have dyed their hair for a part. Afterall, hair grows, color dye can be changed down the road.
Wigs are also an option.
It -would- be easier to find an Alyss who is already dark-haired to begin with, just like it would be easier to find a scary, frazzly redhead to play Redd. But the right actor can be made into their role.

thats true about the whole wigs or dying your hair. so i guess im wrong oh well.
still i think that those other actresses would be good alyss's.

as long as the actress doing Redd does her justice I'm alright with whatever may come. -nods- Though I'd like to be the Cat. Or Hatter. or Dodge. you know what, I'd like to be in the movie. Period. Maybe doppelganger.

thats awesome dude.
yknow being fine with just being in a production is a great attribute.
and i dont think that i would ever have the nerve to audition for anything.
i might want to be a chessman though.

My favorite Alyss is undoubtedly still Kate Beckinsale. I can just picture her with long black hair and she just has the perfect look in my opinion.

But now I have an alternate choice. Miss Zooey Deschanel.

Actually, kate Beckinsale has already played Alice. She was in a very odd version called Alice Through the Looking Glass. It came out in 1998. She wasn't all that convincing, but played Alice well...

Yeah, I've seen it. She was an okay Alice but I think she'd be an even better Alyss.

actually, Zooey Deschanel looks like a pretty good option too!! i wouldn't know about kate though (she doesn't look 20 anymore), i kinda am leaning more for natalie portman. she even looks like the adult version of the illustrations for young alice!

Got any pictures? I forget what Natalie Portman looks like.
I agree about Zoey Deschanel, she looks more like the Alyss I was picturing when I read the book.

Zoey has a younger sister if Zoey is unable to be Alyss. Laters! Mitchie:o

If I am not mistaken Zoey was in Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, which I must say was a very good movie, I liked her acting in that, even though it wondered away from quit a few things in the book. If she were to be casted, lets just hope they do proper justice to this book and not disappoint any of the fans of LGW.

Yes, she was. Unfortunately, Zooey will be too aged to play early-twenties Alyss by the time it comes to casting. =[

ok heres what I think... Alyss is such a mysterious new kind of charactor that if they had an actress that already was well known it would screw everything up because people already have oppinions about the person as an actor or actress!! like in the Harry Potter movies the main roles were new to the acting world. It made people curious and made them JUST think about the movie!! not the actors and actresses in the movie!
