mmm i don;t read often and i severly doubt you ment manga so i'm going tio say another "good" book i have read is called "the last book in the universe" by Rodman Philbrick the synopis goes like this

It's the story of an epileptic teenager nicknamed Spaz, who begins the heroic fight to bring human intelligence back to the planet. In a world where most people are plugged into brain-drain entertainment systems, Spaz is the rare human being who can see life as it really is. When he meets an old man called Ryter, he begins to learn about Earth and its past. With Ryter as his companion, Spaz sets off an unlikely quest to save his dying sister -- and in the process, perhaps the world.

The Discworld series (Terry Pratchett, heathen!) is pretty hilarious.

Most Dragonlance books (particularly those by Margaret Weis) are fabulous.

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede.

'Fire Bringer' and 'The Sight' by David Clement-Davies.

'Waywalkers' and 'Timekeepers' by Catherine Webb.

'The Rat and the Raven', 'Lightning Nest' and 'Ravens Rising' (otherwise known as the Stormbringer trilogy) by Kerry Greenwood is brilliant beyond words.

Isobelle Carmody's various series' are always worth a read.

Frankenstein. 'Nuff said.

'Born of the Sea' by Victor Kelleher.

'Call Of The Wild' and 'White Fang' by Jack London.

'The Secret Garden' and 'A Little Princess' by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

'Heidi' by Johanna Spyri.

'Sophie's World', 'Maya' and 'The Solitaire Mystery' by Jostein Gaarder.

'Caliban's Hour' by Tad Williams.

David and Leigh Eddings (Paricularly 'Regina's Song' and the Younger Gods quartet).

'Wizard's Brew' by Chris Fox.

The Maximum Ride series ('The Angel Experiment', 'School's Out Forever' and 'Saving The World and Other Extreme Sports') by James Patterson.

The Bitterbynde Trilogy ('The Ill-Made Mute', 'The Lady of Sorrows' and 'The Battle of Evernight') by Cecelia Dart-Thornton.

Anything by Scott Westerfeld.

Tamora Pierce.

Chronicles of Narnia.

Harry Potter.

The Lord of the Rings (and the rest of the books connected with Middle-Earth).

The 'Anne of Green Gables' series by L.M. Montgomery. And the 'Emily' books, also by her.

The Cairo Jim series, by Geoffrey McSkimming.

Emily Rodda, particularly the 'Deltora Quest' and 'Rowan' books.

The Silver Brumby series by Elyne Mitchell.

The Doomspell trilogy ('The Doomspell', 'The Scent Of Magic' and 'The Wizard's Promise') by Cliff McNish.

Jackie French.

Roald Dahl.

That's all I can think of right now...

Was the first book of the Djinn Trilogy Children Of The Lamp? I read that one.
I actually read the second book to the series, so I have to go get the first one sometime. I didn't realize that it was the second book until the end and read about the other books written by the author. If you haven't read the second book yet, you should get it, it was awsome!
