Oooh, I'm one of the first to get a post up in here :D. This is just a little Alyss/Dodge story that has been floating around my head for a while now. Baisically, it's five moments Alyss and Dodge never shared (but totally should have XD). I haven't quite decided on the fourth and fifth ones yet, but I'll post them up when I do. And here's the trailer for my bigger LGW fic which is as yet still in the works
LGW-Looking Glass (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHJ6y891cU8)
The first time came the night after Redd's defeat...
With Redd gone and the true heir to the Wonderland throne back in power, Alyss and her new retinue had begun heading back to Wondertropolis, not wanting to spend any longer in Mount Isolation than necessary. General Doppleganger and Bibwit had managed to contact those Alyssians lucky enough to survive the Cat's carnage at their camp in the Everlasting Forest and the Heart Crystal was on its way to the Valley of Mushrooms to be protected by the Caterpillars until such time as it could be returned to the capital.
Camped just within the borders of the Whispering Woods for the night, Dodge had volunteered to take up first watch; knowing that Seekers, Glass Eyes and soldiers for the Cut may still be running loose despite their mistress' downfall. It wasn't like he was going to get any sleep anyway, not knowing that his father's murderer had escaped him once again. Yet it was during his brooding vigil that he heard Alyss murmer a single word in her sleep.
"Dodge..."
Even now, hearing her speak his name again was like part of some blessed dream. Dodge was half expecting to awaken at any moment to find Redd's reign of terror still holding sway over Wonderland and Alyss still believed dead.
Even from where he was sitting, Dodge could see the fear and worry etched onto his childhood friend's beautiful face, clearly trapped in a nightmare like those that had so often plagued his slumber after that fateful day thirteen years ago. It had always broken his heart whenever he had seen her upset and no matter how much they had been through - both together and apart - that part of him at least had never changed. The second she jolted awake with a yell, Dodge was by her side, pulling her into an embrace as Alyss burst into tears against his shoulder.
"Dodge, it was so horrible..." Alyss murmered after she managed to calm herself down a little, "Redd was slaughtering you and there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop her. It was just..."
"She's already seperated us once Alyss" Dodge murmered, pulling her a little closer and stroking her hair comfortingly, "I swear to you, we're never going to be seperated again..."
