Totally! It's kind of confusing when you first read it.
Thats one thing I think Frank did wrong with LGW. He should have described the card soldiers/chessman more clearly. I kept magining those corny suites the card soldiers wore in that cruddy musical adaption of Alice In Wonderland. what a nightmare. :(
