Hi everyone!
I'm Tiffanie and new, I just read the LGW Novels. Of course I found them wildly fantastic, and fell in love with them right away.
I will attempt to post what I can, but I'm a new mom, and finding out that motherhood turns your memory to mush. lol.

Hi Tiffanie, welcome to the forum! My real name is Malachi, but you can call me Jack, which is my real name in Me-Land. ;)
Glad you liked LGW. It is a pretty good read. I bet my mom woulden't like it, though. he he.

I'm new to the board and new to LGW. I read LGW and Seeing Redd back to back and just finished Seeing Redd over Thanksgiving break. Fabulous! I couldn't read them fast enough! Good stuff. I'm quite fascinated by Hatter M's storyline. I just ordered the Hatter M comics to tie me over until the final LGW installment...speaking of which...do we know when it is being released?
Important things to know about me:
1. I'm a huge sci-fi fan
2. I'm a Browncoat (Firefly / Serenity fan)
3. I volunteer for Kids Need to Read (http://www.community.kidsneedtoread.org) (Frank recently joined KNTR)
4. I'm a graphic designer of sorts
That's good for now.

Hello, Dunno what to type about here.. except to say Hi I'm new.
I guess I could type a little about myself, right? lol
I'm an avid cosplayer and am going to make costumes from this series as well as others. I'm a bibilophile with five cats, my favorite character is obvious through my sn, and I really don't know what to type about. ^_^
I saw mention of Firefly and Serenity earlier. I love the series, It's pretty much amazing, and now I shall run off to type in a section I saw earlier that intrigued me. ^_^

Hey, I'm new, just registered yesterday.
My name is Allie and I am an avid LGW fan. I read LGW 3 years ago and had to wait for Seeing Redd to come out (just about killed me) :(I was really upset with the ending of Seeing Redd so i figured I'd go find some other people to commiserate with.
I saw mention of Firefly earlier, has anyone seen Joss Whedon's other show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer? I'm addicted to that series.;)

Yes those are the best type of books. I can read practically anything: from LGW to The Fountainhead to The Golden Compass and even to....(trying to think of other good books that people might have heard of....)hmm.....Twilight! I'm more into fantasy than anything though

Fantasy huh? Well I could spout off a few authors you and others could check out.
Piers Anthony's Xanth series is fun for anyone.
Nora Roberts writes some awesome fantasy/romance trilogies (not bodice ripper romances, but definitely geared towards adults because of content). She is one of my FAVE authors.
Melanie Rawn writes some great stuff, but again...a little more adulty because of brief content and politics that could bore younger readers.
Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series...I'd say age appropriateness would be high school and older.
Chronicles of Narnia...classic fantasy for all ages.
RA Salvatore's Demon Wars Saga and Dark Elf Trilogy are pretty awesome, age appropriateness high school and higher I'd say.
Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles are great...again high school and higher.
Christopher Paolini's Inheritance series isn't bad, for a young writer, it's nicely thought out and younger readers tend to relate to it. Fun for all ages.
Gail Carson Levine wrote the book that the movie Ella Enchanted was adapted from, I preferred the book. LOL Fun for all ages.
Gregory Maguire writes awesome twists to classic fairy tales and stories, age appropriateness high school and higher...perhaps narrowed even to say Juniors, Seniors and higher. LOL But he's one of my favorite authors.
JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series...including The Hobbit LOL...are classics that EVERYONE should read at some point.
L Frank Baum wrote the Oz Chronicles which is fun for all ages.
Douglas Adams wrote the Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide (Includes: 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy', 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe', 'Life, the Universe and Everything', 'So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish', 'Young Zaphoid Plays it Safe' and 'Mostly Harmless') I suggest simply buying (or checking it out of your library) the complete-in-one book, "The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide." Fun for the whole family.
Ursula K. Le Guin wrote the Earthsea series which is pretty fun.
Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series is awesome, high school and higher I'd say.
There's more classics, like Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, and Robert Jordan who write amazing fantasy series.
OOOoookay...I think I'm done. LOL

Since this is the place for introductions, I guess it is the place to type out my first post.
I am Lynier Tortile or LT as Molly calls me apparently. Anyway, I've read both of the books and recently was able to listen to the full soundtrack. I also have the comics. Thats really all the important information I suppose.
As for the surrounding topics, I enjoy most of the authors that have been mentioned. However, there are a few of them I'll have to check out. I haven't got to read them.
The only one I've seen that I'm not too fond of is Nora Roberts.... but thats mostly because I'm not to fond of romance.
I mostly read dark fantasy and true crime novels.

Haha I've read some of them:
-Earthsea trilogy (kinda confusing at first...but loved them)
-I've seen "Hitchhikers Guide" the movie...haha loved it!!!
-I saw "Wicked" in theatre, and if the book is as good as the musical, then I'll love it! Though I do own the book....just never got around to reading it...hmm
-My sister owns all of the Terry Brooks books (Sword of the Shanarrah ..or however you spell it) Are they really good?
-Ugh, LOTR. Started to read them, but got extremely bored. One of few books that I started and never finished...especially "The Hobbit"...the movies are good though
-Melanie Rawn....okay, she can't be as bad as Robin McKinley (one of my all-time favorite authors) in "Deerskin"....try it if you haven't already read it!
-Never really been interested in Nora Roberts because of the fact she writes romance...I never was a fan of romance novels
*So long and thanks for all the fish. So sad that it should come to this...we tried to warn you all but oh dear*!! LOL!
Thanks for taking the time to write up some of these...I'll definitely check out some of them =)

Wicked is WAY better than the play...though I don't down that, it's my favorite musical.
Terry Brooks is DEFINITELY worth reading...completely.
I can understand your LOTR dislike, there are two kinds of people, those who love it and those who hate it...there is no in between it seems. LOL
Melanie Rawn is one of my favorite authors, if you were to read, I would suggest starting with the Dragon Prince trilogy and then the Dragon Star trilogy.
It seems lots of people hear 'romance novel' and run screaming. I used to be one of these people. I hated reading ooey-gooey romance and preferred gripping storyline and action and fantasy. I think it was my mother who forced the first Nora Roberts book into my hands. There are some of her trilogies that are far more intense in plot, action and fantasy than people might assume. If you like magic, fantasy and all that then there are a few of her trilogies that, despite the romance undertone, I really think people would like. Now that I've ousted myself as a devout Nora Roberts fan...LOL...I will shut up.
If you read her or not LOL I hope that the list brought you a few new authors to keep you occupied. :)

Oh. so can I suggest authors too.. ^_^
Terry Pratchett.. I'm amazed that he hasn't been mentioned, is amazing.
Holly Black, only if you like Fairie Stories with modern twists.
Michel Chriton. Congo, Jurassic Park, and Sphere are amazing books. Even if they use Huge words..
Sir Author Conan Doyle, I love him. Sherlock Homles and The Lost World are great classic books.
Lady Chatterly's Lover is a great book only because it's Victorian Smut. I wouldn't suggest this to the under 18 readers, just because of some of the things in it. But the language use is fun with some of the uses. And I adore the way things are written. And I know this isn't an author, but I had to type about it. (Plus its why I normally giggle at the word chirpy)
Michel Ely, He wrote the books to the computer Game Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and surprisingly they were good.
But yeah, I'm drawing blanks because I normally suggest book titles and can't remember authors.. But that's an attempt. I'll try and think up more.

I didn't even know there was going to be a third book! Now I have to look it up and see when it comes out...It's already out in Germany!!! But it comes out April 7th this year in US! I have to get that book next. :D The name is Inkdeath. Sounds awesome!!
Yeah, she has ruined them. I will never find someone because I'm still in love with Edward. hahaha
OOoohh!! "Cornelia Funke has confirmed that Dustfinger will come back in Inkdeath" Straight off wikipedia! :D I hope it's true!

I was simply sticking to fantasy...but if we want to get the whole scope...oh lord, I could go on forEVER.
Yes, I will agree with you, Terry Pratchett is great.
Never heard of Holly Black, but be sure I'm looking her up now!
I LOVE Micheal Crichton is amazing. My faves of his are definitely Jurassic Park and Lost World...but yes, be warned for the big words.
Doyle = awesome!
Omee...Chatterly...that book made me laugh. Probably shouldn't have, but I dunno...it did.
Haven't read the game adaptation, but I might now!!
Okay...now that I know we're breaking from the mold a bit in suggestions:
VC Andrews- anything by her is amazing, but try getting the old books first, not the ones from after she died. VERY adult, but VERY good reads.
Anno Dracula by Kim Newman - Killer read, late high school or higher
Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
Stephen King- I prefer his older stuff...it seems like he's trying too hard anymore.
John Updike- 'Witches of Eastwick' and 'Gertrude and Claudius' are my favorites of his. Adult, late high school or higher.
Shakespeare- 'nuff said. LOL
JM Barrie's Peter Pan- I believe everyone should read classic ORIGINALS like this.
Marion Zimmer Bradley- If you were to read only one...let it be Mists of Avalon. Late high school and higher.
Gaston Leroux's Phantom of the Opera...again with the classic originals.
Bram Stoker's Dracula- Another original...see a trend in my choices? LOL
Jane Austen- Anything by her is completely worth the read...again with the classics.
Kurt Vonnegut Jr.- Sirens of Titan- VERY old classic Sci-Fi book.
Aldous Huxley's Brave New World- Another Very old Sci-Fi classic. Probably one of my faves.
Okay, I'll stop for now...
But one last thing...for the love of GOD if you can avoid 'The Great Gatsby' or 'The Grapes of Wrath', DO SO!!! I've never had so much trouble reading books in my life...boring and draining...that's what those books are.

Ah, I loved the Great Gatsby.. Grapes of Wrath, I think I've read it.. but if I can't really remember than It probably wasn't that good...
Bram Stoker = Love!!
Douglas Adams was mentioned as well DA=The Sex!!
The guy who writes the Redwall Series is amazing. I can't remember how to type his last name!! >.< Brian Jaques.. or something like that. He's British with a French last name.
'The Secret of Dragonhome' is an amazing book, I want to find it again. It's one of my favorites from Middle school. But I can't remember who writes it.
Also, I love you, LAdy Chatterly is pretty friken funny.

I might have loved The Great Gatsby if my English teacher hadn't make us pick it apart like a dead frog for symbolism. I mean, honestly...I could care less what the stupid lemon squares meant. LOL
And the Redwall series...yeah, I have that, Brian Jacques. :-) Silly French names. LOL
And I know a book by the name 'The Secret of Dragonhome'. I have it actually...yes I know, I have a library all my own. The author's name is John Peel. I don't know if it's the book you're thinking of, but the synopsis on the back reads thusly:
A teenage Melayne and her young brother are left orphans after a group or raiders attack their farm. They embark on a perilous journey to find a place to live, hiding their Talents from the King's press-gangs—everyone with the magical abilities is drafted to fight an endless war against the other kingdoms' magicians. During the journey, Melayne's ability to communicate with animals and her determination, decency and intelligence help them defy the odds, befriend the inhabitants and correct old wrongs.

Yeah, she has ruined them. I will never find someone because I'm still in love with Edward. hahaha
OOoohh!! "Cornelia Funke has confirmed that Dustfinger will come back in Inkdeath" Straight off wikipedia! :D I hope it's true!

Hi, I'm the Loiterer or just L if you prefer. Got the first book for Chrimbo and whilst arsing around the website, I found the forums, you look like a nice enough bunch.
I'm a s-f/fantasy geek, and I read far too many comics when I should be working. I like most musics and films. I'm a budding writer and competent artist, so I might put up some of my work based on LGW at a later date. And I'm English, so I may from time to time talk like one...

Uni work, the act of having to do something productive to get a degree. The amount of work involved depends on many things, the effort of the student, the pass minimum, and whether or not the work is practical or theoretical...

(Now I'm not saying I would molest you or anything. I'm just saying that it would probably happen just for the fact that an unrelated older person would be hanging around a young underage person. And that doesn't always go well for the older person involved. Especially around Detroit.)

I got it!
Only I have no idea why I worded the sentence like that.
It was meant to say "Is there anything I should know" Like "don't call so-and-so a loser, cause he'll eat your heart"
Or something. Haha I'm sorry, I've taken the nightly meds and am a *little* loopy. :D

Yummy! Can I bring my kitty? I'm always threatening her with kitty stew. Hehehe Yeah right. She gets away with murder and she knows it.

welcome. As i have mentioned or should have, i am the craziest 1 here. No 1 will argue w/ me (being crazy that is) Twiggit likes salad, her cousin, Heart is preparing 2 take over the world and i am the rejected author! so i'm self publishing at the moment.

I'm sorry, Artemis, but you just violated my copywrited technique used only by those less fortunate.

Gen: "I'm talking 2 a fairy like she can understand me....i'm going crazy!"

General: "Why do i even bother?"
General Doppel Ganger

The subject that you wandered from after breaking the copywrite. The subject where we are a greeting team.

*twinkling bells* Oh! That 'un! can i have the rest of the night off? i gotta go!
General: "Whatever she said, fine. i'm not going to struggle with this."

Take it over to my new topic "Discuss What You Must" instead of talking about random things here.
It's a pleasure to meet you, Arris.

Is this still the spot for Noob's to say hello? ;)
If it is, then hello. If not.....
Screw you, hello anyway....lol
It doesn't seem like you've gotten a lot of new folks lately? Oh well. I like poking around and reading all your posts. You entertain me! I don't know that I'll have a lot to offer. I'm piddling my way through the second book, trying to put off reaching the end of it. I hate waiting for new books to come out, and I'd rather be done with this one, and be able to move along to the next. Is that sad or what? I've been reading the damn thing for like.......ever. *sigh*
Anyhow, there ya go. I said hi. :o
i'm n00b. understood?! i'm Nub Cake as well. but that will change eventually, Nub Sauce(salsa!!!!)
