We had makeshift Millinery schools at the Alyssian Camp in the Everlasting forest. That's where I learned everything I know and was awarded the title of Homburg. Of course, the school was top secret because such studies were banned by Her Imperial Viciousness, and we couldn't let the world know about our status, but I graduated with the title of Homburg from that makeshift school and have kept it ever since. Now that Redd's reign is over and the Millinery is re-established, we are going to begin again by studying what we were not able to while the Millinery was banned. And of course I wasn't a member of the official Millinery until Queen Alyss was restored to throne because up until that time, there was no official Millinery!


I have a question! Do you have a best friend?

Yes, her name is Queen Alyss Heart. While she is my Queen and mistress, she is first and foremost a very good friend... and a very cool one! Did you hear how she made that huge orb generator and exploded all those soldiers that were following her? Hey yeah! But anyways... yeah, I think a lot of her. She is what every woman warrior should want to be like and she doesn't treat me like I'm less than a Milliner. If not for her, Dad probably would never have let me get involved when we met in that tavern where I was a waitress. Of course, that was back before I knew he was Dad!

Whenever I ask him stuff like that he tends to clam up. Generally doesn't like revealing personal info, and all that. If I can get him to squeal the answer, I'll let you know first. From what I've gathered being around him, I'm thinking that he had a different first name, but now that he's a Hatter that's just what everyone calls him because, you know, he is like THE Hatter. His other name might possibly be in the Millinery files, but somehow I doubt it. Even Mom called him Hatter, so I don't think he goes by any other name. I'm only a Homburg who hasn't graduated the official book learning part of the Millinery yet, so I wouldn't know for sure, but I think that when someone becomes a Hatter they drop their first name and only use "Hatter" and their surname. No one even needs to call Dad "Hatter Madigan" anymore... you say "Hatter" and people will know what you mean. That's how famous he is.

I will use either form of protection when someone is shooting an AD52 my way. The Homburg shield is easier, but personally I like the wrist blades. That way, if someone else tries to attack me from some other direction, my Homburg will be free. True, I'll be using my wrists to block the cards, but I can always do that with one hand, too. With my other hand I can reach for my Homburg and throw it at whoever else is trying to attack me. Which is bad news for them.

Besides, you gotta admit, using your wrist blades looks really cool. :D

I would consider, of all the people I know/work with at the Palace, General DoppleGanger to be a friend. He always treats me like a Milliner and not just some Halfer.

I also have some friends that you guys wouldn't know... from the waitressing profession. That's a tough job for girls, so we kind of had to stick together. Especially when drunk guys would start to hit on us... the other girls found out that it was nice to know someone who could actually fight. There's only White and Black Imagination. Gray Imagination is only... well... in the TWiNZ's imaginations. Hee hee. (Don't tell them. They think it's real!) :p

We aren't going to stay here at Talon's Point for very long, and I've never been much of one for interior decorations... I prefer practicing fighting. So I am not worried about what the inside of the Point looks like. Besides, I would not want to touch one thing. Y'know, this is, like, Mom and Dad's special place. The one place they could be themselves and feel free and romantic... gosh darn it, I'm lucky this place made them feel romantic or else I wouldn't be here! :eek: So I would not want to change a single thing from the way it was when Mom was alive. Even though she's a part of the Looking Glass World now, I want this place to still be just the way it was when she was alive, so that Dad and I can remember her through it. Especially Dad.

But if I had a room of my own, I'm sure Dad would let me decorate it myself. He doesn't care much what I do, as long as I don't embarass him or break things or destroy the Millinery or the Queendom.

Because when someone sees pink, they think "girlie girl" and it's kind of the ultimate "pampered girl" color. I am not that and so that is the last color I would ever want to be caught wearing. *Thinks angry thoughts about King Arch* Besides, I like darker blues because that's like the color of the Millinery jackets. Could you imagine how ridiculous we would look if all the Milliners showed up on the day of battle wearing HOT PINK hats and coats? :eek: So not impressive.
