For me, I was (and still am) a huge fan of the original Alice books. I must have read Alice in Wonderland five times and Through the Looking Glass twice. But my addiction was severely unquenched. I watched many Alice in Wonderland movies, old television shows that focused on Alice, Japanese Anime series, and video games. I went to websites trying to find more things about the Alice books and studied about Alice Liddell and the "Controversies and mysteries" of Lewis Carroll.

While trying to find more Alice in Wonderland movies on Youtube I stumbled across a advertisement for the fist Looking Glass Wars book and HAD to check it out! And I did. ^_^

PS: If any Alice/Alyss fans are interested in the movies/tv shows/anime/games that I found on Alice, feel free to ask me what I found and I'll be more than happy to. ^_^

A very beautiful woman convinced me to buy it for myself because I showed interest in the book at a store.

Of course, I ended up getting the second book shortly thereafter and here I am.

Hello dear folks! I first heard of LGW's from my movie producer sister, Diana...in Hollywood. She got to read the script that Frank gave her. She sent me the link to this website. I then did some web searching on Wikipedia, plus other sites. Then I read the first book. I really loved the themes that Frank put out in the book, plus I did some research on Alice Liddell. For some reason, I knew that this book would make a really KICK ASS movie. I have the original e-mail that my sister sent me last summer. Plus this book has inspired me to compose music. This music is rather emotional. In minor chords. Plus a theme for Dodge and Alyss, in Major chords. I really hope the best for this film project since there will be many Alice in Wonderland movies coming out, but not like our dear Alyss. Her story must be told to the world.:)Thank Fans! Mitch :D

Found out about it in two ways really. Firstly, while I was loitering in one of my local comic shops, I saw issue one of Hatter M. And sometime later, I bought American McGee's Alice and while reading up on it on wikipedia, I saw a link to LGW and then decided to get the book!

I've always been a fan of the books and the movies. I hadn't thought about Alice in Wonderland in years at the time, and then i had one of those moments where I was on an Alice kick and for x amount of days or weeks i just couldn't get enough. I was at the bookstore and stumbled across the LGW in the new fiction section, and as soon as I saw the title I was pulled in. I knew I had to read it, and ever since I've been hooked.

I was at Phoenix Cactus Comicon on November of 2006 when the LGW booth caught my eyes. I was immediately interested and bought the European version of the paperback the same day. :) I will never regret it. I continue to be a regular frequenter of the booth when I go to the con, especially since I'm only at the con for one day.

I read the original Alice book when I was about 7. Didn't understand most of it, but loved it anyway. I re-read it from there on out at least a dozen times before I turned 12. The addiction only grew from there.

As my far living room wall filled with all the Alice "stuff" I could get my hands on, my hubby got terribly terribly sick, and I sort of drifted from my hunting. When I FINALLY got back to it, I'd missed out on *everything* LGW. I was waaaaaaaayyyyyyy behind. I guess I found out via my daily Google hunts of alice related merch. Hah. I sound like such an addicted little freak when I say it like that.

Pissed me off, actually. LoL So I grabbed what I could and am still in the process of catching up. My job's a bitch right now so I have little to no free time to actually sit and ENJOYABLY read a book.

Again, this rather pisses me off. But oh well!! I'll get through the second book.............eventually..............*sigh*

I went to my local book store with some money for a new read, and of course there wasn't really anything good. But then I saw the looking glass wars book and I grabbed it.

But I bought it anyways, read it, and enjoyed it.

i was in a borders once about a year ago. I saw the first book by the registers and in the fiction section as oneof the recomended hits. i passed the oppurtunity once because i didn't know about it. so i went to wikipedia and looked it up and got interested in the story. i'm very picky about what i read so i research it first. then after deliberating with myself i bought it a month later. I read in in less than a week and proceeded to getting the next book.

well one day I said to myself I really need to read more often so Christmas was right around the corner so my mom was like what do you want for Christmas and I was like o well um I want a book so with that I head off to borders and I was like all confused (I didn't read all that much before this series) then I seen this book I picked it up and read the saying on the cover [I]fantasy just declared war on reality I was like ok that sounds cool so I read the back and I was like good enough so I buy it. I was reading another book at this time but it was for school so I had to put this on the side for a little bit. Then i started reading it and i was like a little confused but what ever and then i notice that i couldn't put it down i had to keep reading and reading and thats when i fell in LOVE with this series and i can not wait for the 3rd book to come out!

I spent the night at a friend's house. She was reading this book called "Seeing Redd". So basically, I pointed to it and said, "That lady on the front looks scary yet kinda cool! What is that book about, anyway??"

So then my friend threw me this book called "The Looking Glass Wars."

And poof, there you have it. The next morning we drove up to Busch Gardens (a four hour drive from where I live) and I was reading it the entire time. I read it on the way back too. By the time we got back to her house, I was done with it.

And since my friend hadn't finished Seeing Redd yet, I had to go buy it, because I wasn't going to wait for her to finish it. I finished the 2nd book in a day too :D

Later, I bought my own copy of The Looking Glass Wars. Couldn't have the second book without the first one :p

I was just in Barnes & Noble, and, I debate all the time on buying books. Normally its the books I see 3-5 times in a row at bookstores, and, when I finally decide to buy them, those always turn out to be my favorite books. So The Looking glass Wars was one of those books I debated on several times going there, and I finally got it, and loved it.

Although, I still need to get the second one. D:

Interesting story, actually, I was just walking around Wal-mart just after The Looking Glass Wars came out and I saw a book with the four suit crest and I looked at it, because I've always liked Alice in Wonderland, and I read the description in the front and I knew I had to have it! After that I was hooked.

Actually I saw the first book in Meijers and the phrase "Fantasy just declared war on reality" really caught my eye; LOL. But I don't usually just buy a book unless it's been recommended to me and/or I've read at least part of it through the library. But while I was at Meijers that day I just kept looking through it and I thought it looked ingenious. You know, just the whole idea that someone had revamped Alice in Wonderland. So I flipped through it and then I saw the pictures... wowie zowie! I thought the pic of Hatter Madigan was the coolest thing evah!

But I still didn't buy it 'cause like I said, I just don't buy books without having "previewed" them. But I couldn't get LGW off my mind and so about a week later I marched into Borders books and asked the employee at the computer to find it for me. He did and I read the whole thing that day; couldn't put it down!

Needless to say, I ordered Seeing Redd ASAP and I totally love it. LGW is such an AWESOME series! Can't wait 'till the third book! :) :D :)

Oh, wow, I had never seen that cover before. It's cool!

Unfortunately, I was never a fan of Alice in Wonderland. When I was little and saw the disney cartoon, Tweedledum and Tweedledee always freaked the bejeebees out of me! LOL! Needless to say, I was much relieved to read about their characters "redemptions" on the written page through the awesome character General DoppleGanger.

But, after having become a nut of the LGW series, I decided that it would only be right for me to go and read the original stories, more or less so that I could be able to make the comparisons between AIW and LGW. So yes, I very recently read both "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass". And you know what...?

Their complete wacky randomness STILL freaked the bejeebees out of me! LOL LOL LOL! :D

Lol!! I totally agree^_^ the weird twins scared me when I was little; they always said the most random things as well. The General; now hes different. Hes cooooool; and not a nerd like the twins! Plus he can fight; the twins cant fight even if there samll lives depended on it! Lol:D

YAAAAAAY I'm not the only one! Tweedledum and Tweedledee were just too weird, even for me. I mean yeah, like you said, they were always saying and doing random things and, while I don't have a problem with randomness because I'm one of the most random people you'll ever meet, their randomness was just too much for me.

But like you said... General DG... he's cooooooooooooool. Forget the stupid fat twins who pretend to have figths over broken rattles. This guy has a sword and he's not afraid to hit people with it.

:D

And don't even get me started on how that "Mad Hatter" is SOOOOO wrong, considering the real Hatter Madigan....

Yes I've always preferred that cover for some reason. :]
LOL I have to agree! The twins scared me as a kid too! Especially the scene (in the Disney movie I think?) where Alice is in the forest and they keep bugging her or something, it always made me scared of going into forests, and running into two very chubby annoying twins, it was nightmareish! >_< The character redemption in LGW is refreshing, but I'd always thought they would be monsters instead! xD

Actually, when I was flipping through the book at Meijers, I was like, "Wow, this looks really cool." But what really made me realize that I NEEDED TO READ THIS BOOK was when I got to the pics in the middle and saw the one of Hatter with his wrist knife out, looking very fierce and cool. It was really that picture that made me want to read LGW.

And for the next book, I vote that we send those three paintings that Gdornathan did of Molly and let Frank put one (or all!) of those in this next book! HA I bet people (especially girls) who haven't read LGW yet would really want to read the series after seeing those!

LOL if GD sees this she'll probably be rolling her eyes and saying "she's off again. I should have never ever made those sketches." LOL!

YES YES YES! I was always freaked out of the twins because of that one stinkin disney scene where every time Alice turns around, THERE THEY ARE!!!! brrrr. It seemed like a nightmare to me... being trapped in a dark forest with two creepy twins following you wherever you go.

Here's what I originaly posted a couple of pages back. :)

uhm. kinda complicated. but to keep it as simple as it can be, this book was actually mentioned by a friend that worked at a bookstore. He had never read it, but he said he had heard of it. I just kept it in mind.

I think about a couple months passed after that incident when I started drawing more Alice and Wonderland stuff and then I remembered about the book because I needed another book to read. So me and my sister read the original Alice's Adventures into Wonderland, then started scavenging bookstores for The Looking Glass Wars. And of course we LOVED the book and had to get the next one as soon as possible. =D

But of course, that's long story short. =)

I merely happened to stumble upon this series. The book store in the mall I work at was going out of business. I was stocking up on some books that I had already wanted to read or was already in the process of reading. I had found a few really interesting books in a section I never go to and I turned around and saw on a shelf by itself "The Looking Glass Wars". I thought to myself... that sure does remind me of "Through the Looking Glass".... and I just so happen to be an obbessed "Alice in Wonderland" fan. I read the summary and danced with joy when I was done. I haven't been this excited about a book since I read the "Twilight" series. I just bought the book a few days ago and I'm almost done. I'm now going to be searching for the next one... and then hope that the 3rd comes out soon!

I found the series back when it was just book 1 that was out. It was our bookclub book at my school, and I joined up because I'm a big time reader. Frank Beddor even came to my school. It was awesome! The next year, when I was in 8th grade, Seeing Redd had come out and I read that. I loved it and that's when I was hooked.
