I've been sketching some fanart, but I've run into a problem. We all know that Beddor can be light on the character description, so I thought I'd ask all of you guys if you had some views.

What do you think Boarderlanders wear? (And thanks in advance to anyone who replies...:))

Here's how I think they look, not sure but for some reason this is what I think,
I get the impression that they don't really like too many colors, so most I guess would be dressed in brown or a rusty shade of red. For the men a coarse beard keeps coming to mind along with the men all being big, and the women are small and meek because they believe that men are suppiror to women, the men would look kinda mean, and then the women would look kinda sad, but with somewhat of a bitter-sweet smile on their faces. That's just what I think. Hope it helped! :):):):)

My first thought is layers. Many layers for cold, which can be shed in warmer climes. The fabric is rough and can take a beating, as they have to travel extensively. Even someone like Arch probably has some level of durability in his attire, though it's probably done up a bit more elaborately because "it's good to be the king" :)

I suppose the key is in their lifestyle, and also in what they do from day to day. Chances are a Middle Eastern nomad influence would not be uncalled for, perhaps crossed with the travelling gear of other countries.

I am sure there are exceptions to the rules, and that they may have more "nice wear" for when they're in one place for long enough to enjoy it (I think of Arch's wives, who are probably very decorative and intended to be just that for the most part when they're staying for a time), but again, station in life probably dictates it a little bit.

(pardon me, the costumer, exposed to all too many folks who make historical garments, had to babble)

I saw Middle Eastern in there as well. Though in my head I saw it crossed with stereotypically used Gypsy clothes..

And I saw lots of colors, because of Arch's Tent. ^_^ I can go into more details if you want, but that's my opinion.

Fur! That just came to mind, cuz it sounds like it is cold there, fur hats, fur coats the whole shabang. I dunno, it's just what I think, en't really that clear what they look like so I really en't that sure.

And see, this is also something we don't get a lot of mention of: Wonderland climate conditions.

We don't know if it is temperate year round, or if they experience any form of seasons, and if they do, what the fluctuations are.

Plus, Wondertropolis may experience different conditions than Boarderland, or Mt. Isolation, or heck, even the Valley of Mushrooms (not to mention, how Redd's rule may have affected those climes..use of Naturcide and all that may have changed landscapes and habitat significantly).

Ah, lots of things to infer :)

I agree with Molly_Madigan that I see lots of colors, and definitely a Middle Eastern thing. I don't necessarily picture it being cold in Boarderland (except at night); I think of it as being all desert, and therefore very hot.

But everyone's got his or her own opinion.

I myself have always thought of Boarderland as being very desert-like and nomadic. Very much the same superstitions as the Beduin and located in an area similar to the Arabian Peninsula. Though, perhaps, I may have pictured it a bit like a mix between that and Constantinople.

Dang...couldn't have said it better myself. That's EXACTLY what I was thinking.

I thought of Boarderland as desert like as well! I agree with Middle Eastern part too, and gypsy like themes. Colours like beige, cream, but also rough like dark browns/reds and black.

Are we going to get to see some of these sketches when you're done with them...? :D
