i saw the wiki claim that the 3rd book, supposedly titled THE LAW OF WONDERLAND, is coming out later this year. however, we all agree that wiki isnt exactly trustworthy and this year is already half over.

but you dont think frank beddor will release a movie before the final book, just to keep up speculation, do you? :(

That should be asked this weekend at Comic-Con...though darn if I can get anyone to go to the con to see his panel!

I don't think the movie will come out first because the casting calls haven't been announced... or have I missed them!?!?!? 0.0

It seems unlikely. Wiki can't always be trusted, but then again, Seeing Redd only came out last year. It always seemed a bit...shaky...to me that the third book in the trilogy would come out only a year after the second.

But I don't think we need to worry about the movie coming out before the book. LGW the movie is going to be fantasy on an epic scale. They haven't even made casting calls yet, but we know that there's going to be a ton of CG and stuff. It'll take months just for the shooting.

In short, I think the third book will come out before the movie. It's just that we still might have to wait a while.

i cant imagine waiting a year...i just got done with SEEING REDD and im like "Now What?!?!?!" hes had awhile to write the third book, assuming he began it after the second one got published.

Wikipedia is updated by people who don't always have their facts straight. While it holds a lot of good info, it also holds inaccuracies, and you have to take what you read there with a pretty big hunk of salt.

I mean, given what we know so far, does "The Law of Wonderland" really -fit- the end book of the trilogy?

Mmm. I smell a debate topic :D

...Books take a while to write. I know that I can hit 4,000 words a day when feeling inspired, but even after you finish the first draft, you have to check for mistakes, revise, even rewrite entire sections. And then it has to go through the editors at the publishing house. And then it has to be printed and bound...

Actually, two years between books is pretty good, all things considered.

I'd love to participate in a debate, so let me see... Law of Wonderland...

Unless we're talking about some kind of ancient laws about Imagination that preceded all else and are kept by the caterpillars (though I note that eight were mentioned and we've only seen six so far - ooh, if the last two are Black and White and are the Guardians of Imagination or some such twaddle I will be unhappy...), which would be kind of cliche, I'm drawing a blank on how it could apply.

Thoughts, anyone?

One thing I was wondering is, what to use instead of Wikipedia... does anyone know of any other websites with good accurate info?

Ok, so I think that the 3rd book will come out before the movie does, cuz well they haven't even started filming yet and we don't even know if any production company has even signed on to the LGW movie so who knows if there will even be one, but I really hope there is. But I most definitely say that the 3rd book will come out before the movie so. I don't know when I mean theres always wiki but ya know sometimes its not to be trusted, but I hope it comes out soon cuz I'm deprived over here I need to know what happens!

I would rather the 3rd book be out before the movie so that the entire trilogy could get a lord or the rings treatment. Meaning that all the films could be worked on at the same time.

I hope the third book comes out first. It would just be too weird if you saw the movie, knew the ending of the whole trilogy, and then were to read the book.

Unless they are going to do more than one movie?

I think, to get the most out of the books in a cinematic adaptation, you'd have to do a trilogy! There is no way you could condense all three books into one two-hour and a half (at the latest) film...

yeah seriously! I mean could you imagine having to fit all of the awesome little details in one movie?!?! It's near impossible unless they make it lame and cut out all the action scenes!

I think Looking Glass Wars should be a trilogy movie, like Lord of the Rings!!!!!

So, if they do make a trilogy, or even just two movies or whatever, when do you think the first one will come out? Maybe next year, sometime????

also, I'm pretty sure that FB is gonna have the third book out first because it's coming out soon. If you think about it, why would he be working so hard on the third book instead of casting people and starting his movie if he didn't want the third book out first!

you know what I mean??

Oh exactly. I completely agree. It would also be more appealing to offer it to studios as a trilogy if all the books were out. So, that could also be a factor to why the book would most assuredly come out first.
