I'm Beheading Genevieve! :D

I'm drawing the part where Redd beheads Genevieve and there's two depictions of it in the books. (which is totally a mistake, and I guess Frank can't fix that now) BUT I was just wondering which death do you prefer better? When Redd used the Bolt (in LGW: paperback, US, p. 66-67) or the Scythe (in Seeing Redd: hardcover, US, p. 197)?

I personally liked the bolt, but what do you guys think?

I personally am for the white bolt of energy because, when it was first told in LGW, that's like when it was happening and so anyone who sees the picture will automactically think of that scene and not Redd's flashback scene in SR. I think the white bolt will stick in their minds much more and it will make for a more authentic looking picture.

Besides, in the flashback scene (since it is only a flashback) do you think Frank Beddor meant a scythe as in:

That's quite possible.

Besides, I think scythes for bad guys are overused. White energy bolts are way cooler.

But actually, the energy bolt wasn't white. It was red.

No problem. You weren't exactly wrong... I mean, it was white at first. I just always remember that when she killed Genevive it was red because I like how it was, like, she twirled it in her hand and then it changed colors. I thought that was awesome.

Oh, another thing for the energy bolt: when the scene is retold for the second time in Alyss' Looking Glass Maze (pg. 308), it is indeed shown to be a "scarlet energy bolt".

Incidently, I did consider having Redd's staff equipped with a scythe mechanism so that it could be used for such things....I'm still trying to figure out how it would work.

Stage things and all, afterall. It's not easy to make light bolts onstage :P

That would be awesome. There should be a slot in the scepter where you can keep the blade so it can pop in and out as you please, maybe?

That which got the job done. The bolt cauterizes the wounds and makes them less messy, but at the same time, it wasn't going to be -me- cleaning up after her.
