Alice & Dinah

Hello. Jay here with another drawing for everyone. Back to my usual cartoon style. (Drew this on my vacation. ;))

This started out as someone random, then halfway I decided it was Alice with her cat, Dinah (from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland). *shrugs* Then I added one of those period dresses on her (I hope I made it of the right time period). It's the first dress I drew that I successfully made from a different century and with the most detail, too in my cartoon style! YAY! frilly with ribbons...that's how the fashion should be again. *sigh* not. LoL.

And GAH! Dinah! I can't draw cats for the life of me!!! Thanks to Jem. She helped me with the anatomy, but it's still kinda wonky to me. But it's waaay better than it was before. Trust me. But if there's any cat experts out there that can help me, that would be cool. :D

Yep. Well, I hope you like this. Critiques and comments would be nice. This is just a draft, of course. :)

OMG!!! I love it! It looks like you made Alice as a young adult, very fancy :p And I don't know what you mean about the wonky cat. Seems better then fine to me! And I completely adore her dress! So frilly...:D

P.S. I'm horrible at critisizing things. I can't see anything wrong with it anyway. I can't wait to see the finished copy (if you post it). ;)

Aww. Thanks, Emily! :D Yeah, this is not canon to LGW. Well, I think I mixed both AIW & LGW together. But I wanted to share it anyway. ;)

I'm not that good at drawing animals so I can see the wonkiness, but thank you for not seeing it. It makes me feel better. LoL!

Well I'm still getting better at it. But right now the thing that I am probably best at is Violin. Writing I am still working at...LOL Should I make a thread or find a thread to put parts of the book I'm writing? :cool:

Nice drawing, TWiNZ! Unfortunately, I don't think I can put it into the LGW shrine because... well... it's not exactly LGW.... but I still like it!

You drew the cat WAY better than I ever could! But something does look a bit off on it. Since I'm a cat-aholic, I'll try to see if I can pin point it...

The body looks very nice, because it's long like a typical cat. Looks very much like the bodies of my cats. I think the problem is the head. It kinds reminds me of a chihuahua. No offence meant there- it's very cute, it's just not a cat's head. I think it's too rounded. Cats do have different shaped heads, but most of the time they are slightly longer, with more of a pointed chin and more of a forehead.

And once again, here I go with comparing.......

The cat has more of a graceful curve near its jaws and its chin ends in more of a point, also it has more of almosd shaped eyes. Your cat strikes me as having more of a blocky jaw, like the little doggie, and I knwo the eyes are big because they're cartooney (They're very cute, BTW) but maybe a bit more of an almond shape to them would help with the whole cat look.

And maybe it's just me, but Dinah's little fro is kinda distracting. LOL.

I'm not saying that it's bad or anything you know... I really like this drawing. The cat is really good and close to the real deal. The face just needs a touch of refining, that's all... but only a touch. Overall it's AWESOME! I love Alice, too. She looks like she's imagining something.

you should totally post it. :) along with violin composition tracks that are inspired from LGW scenes. you should see Jem right now. she's trying to play Shneebly (our electric guitar) like a violin. LOL! :rolleyes:
