Or maybe he was just trying to humiliate the enemy. Or momentarily blind them. Or distract them so he could get away without seriously hurting them. How could we possibly question the great Hatter Madigan and his lethal hat? Especially when we don't know what happens on the preceding or succeeding page. :p

*flicks back hair* Oh, I am quite sure you do. Heh.
How could we possibly question the great Hatter Madigan and his lethal hat?
Or perhaps I was simply mocking the... non-lethal affects of Hatter Madigan's Hat, yet you yourself happened to be the subject of misunderstanding. Unless of course you did understand my jesting, in which you now attempt to humiliate myself... however, you are failing if you are attempting to do so. *smiles*

Haha. I wonder what Hatter Madigan's hat smells like?
*sniffs own hat and turns away* Mine smells like sweat. *sniffs again* And metal. =\
*smirks and takes Hatter Blade's hat, sniffs and throws back at Blade* Yours also smells like metal... but a lot more obvious. >_<

*snatches back Hat and scowls, fixing it back upon head* Of course the Hats would smell slightly like Millinery steel. They are, in part, woven into a pattern to create weaponry out of such material.

I am not a comedian by any stretch of the imagination and I leave the humiliating to those who are more qualified to do so. :) I must admit I never expected you to be, as you say, jesting. The thought never crossed my mind.

Wouldn't they smell like caterpillar silk, too? I wouldn't have the slightest idea what that smells like...

Yes yes Blade.

(My I-Pod is being retarted and won't let me put two quotes and I have no other Internet source at the moment. Long story.)
Hmmm... I guess they would smell like caterpillar silk, if there was a smell to it. =\ I dunno. *sniffs hat again* No... theres nothing there except for my sweat and the steel. Wait... Why does my hat smell like those bad smelling car freshners? Dx *remembers putting hat on top of car freshner* Oh... Nevermind.

.....Hmmmm.
Why does it seem like more and more lately, Hatter's Hat has been being used as something more along the lines of an overrated prop? It's no longer a weapon of amazingness like it was in the first Hatter M and the LGW books. Now it's just a thing that flies around and spies like the little hats in Meet the Robinsons, or a big vacume thingie to rescue some kid and his dog, or a fire hydrant that floats. And.... I could blind someone with my fedora by throwing it into their faces. Why would Hatter have done that? That seems.... amature.
I mean, I AM a huge fan of Hatter M and I WILL buy this comic when it comes out. And yes, I am excite for it as it is new LGW material. But... it seems like in Mad With Wonder and the later Hatter M comics, it's been like the Hat has been stressed so much that it seems to be capable of anything in the world. And it floats by itself? That would mean that it's independant of Hatter. So what is Hatter, then? Just some dude in a coat who lets the Hat sit on top of his head and carries it around? SERIOUSLY, that sounds like the Bowler Hat Guy from Meet the Robinsons.
I'm very very very disappointed with what the Hat has become. It seems like it's taken over the comics and the Hat is the focus, not Hatter.

AUGH! I hate Meet the Robinsons! DX why did you have to mention that movie? now I hate Hatter's Hat even more because you're right. LOL! (it even has that stupid eye-light thing! *kills it to death*)
I think I've been mentioning how much I did not like Hatter's Hat. I agree. I do not like that it has a mind of its own. I really like Hatter Madigan's character as a Milliner in the LGW books, but in the comics, he just seems...invincible (which I do not prefer). especially, because of that hat. I liked that he was somewhat vulnerable in the books, unlike the graphic novels. The Hat is only a weapon, not a sidekick--it's inanimate. I loved that. I liked the fact that he was more a bad a** that can beat up people in trained combat with his really cool hat/weapons and nothing more. I don't like that he can just throw the hat and it'll do everything for him now.
But in other news, we DID get our transmedia professor to buy these graphic novels. we intro'd her to LGW from a paper I wrote and she has mentioned it in class a couple times. am I awesome or am I awesome? LoL! and now she has tracked down the Hatter M series because she is in love with graphic novels. please don't make her hate my recommendation. ;)
and AGAIN. I love you, Frank. XD

You guys are so right! It is annoying what it becomes... but FRank Beddor must have SOME reason, who knows? But Hatter Madigan is my favorite character... and I would hate to se him become just a dude with a magical hat,but Hatter would never be that, even without his hat,but his hat is part of his identity... Hmmm... *Is thinking and confusing self*

Does anyone else think Hatter's brother Dalton and Mr. Rafters from Archenemy are the same person or is it just me going mad?
But I agree about Hatter's hat being used for everything and it's just becoming overrated. It does seem like Hatter can make the hat do anything so he doesn't have to which seems lazy for a Milliner.

Hey Ivory_Orange, welcome to the forums!
The Dalton/Rafters idea was actually one that I've thought of before and I really wish that had been it. But for some reason.... I don't think they're supposed to be the same. =/ I think Dalton was more of a Millinery dude like Hatter and not an Alchemist. But I actually really wanted Dalton and Rafters to be the same person. I thought that would have been so cool.
And glad to hear that you agree about Hatter M.

But I got the Hatter M. 3 book yesterday and the hats were treated sort of like pokemon in one scene and Hatter's hat is used to solve more problems in unhatish ways. Plus there's a new person I think is Mr. Rafters. But it's a pretty good book, he doesn't cheat on Weaver for once!

It's much better then the last one Ms. Mimsy and it hasn't come out yet but I pre-ordered on Amazon so it shipped a few days early.

It's sounds so tempting to get right now. But I'll wait and hear what other members have to say about the third volume.
I'm also really curious about the reissue of Hatter M. volume one. The cover on it is eye candy to me, but why are they reissuing it? =/

I think they're reissuing it because of the new artist so might be the same thing with different illustrations, but that's just my guess.

I really hope not. I really like Ben Templesmith artwork better than the current artist doing the Hatter M. comics. *sighs*
I want Mr. Templesmith back, Frank. :(

They are reissuing it, most likely, in an attempt to draw further attention to the graphic novels. It's something 'exciting' and new for the public to look at.
Although I myself do have a theory, where they are keen to obliterate any signs of Ben Templesmith having ever existed and contributed to the series. I'd also imagine that a switch of artists is never really wonderful for a business, especially when some liked the first artist much better.
After all, it's simply about the business. The money that they all make from readers buying the books. ...And perhaps, Sami Makkonen is simply cheaper and more affordable.
