Just saw Alice in Wonderland. I have to say I thought it was worth the money. I spotted a lot of things that reminded me of LGW which kinda made me wana tear tim's face off, but I did like what he did. the background music sounded like it was the same music in charlie and the Chocolate factory but I thought it worked with what was happening in Alice. My favorite part of the movie was when Alice was fighting the Jaberwocky. Loved how the beast came out. I'd give it a 5/5 because I'm a pretty big Wonderland fanatic. I noticed at the end when alice was talking to her, I guess, ex fiance's father about business Alice still had the three scars the Bandersnatch cut on her arm. Thought either she or the guy might have noticed it.
Post your thoughts on the movie if you see it

I really did not like that movie. Maybe it is because I went in to see it with high hopes and there was no way it could measure up to that. Maybe.
Maybe it am a bit to much of an Alice in Wonderland purist. It did take me a while to give LGW a go becuase I was worried it would ruin the original Alice (don't kill me for admitting that), but the movie did not seem that good to me. I think that Tim Burton changed it a bit to much for it ot have been called Alice in Wonderland, calling it that leads the audience to belive it is a take on the orignal Alice in wonderland when actually it wasn't that close to the original as I would have thought. Alice returns to wonderland, or anything title that atleast leads to the fact that Tim Burtons movie and the orginal book are far from each other. I went into that movie hoping to see a darker take on the classic, only to be dissapointed when it turned out to be a whole new wonderland. But I am not going to complain about the whole movie, that would be quite rude and un true. Even though it didn't turn out to be what I was expecting, the movie in it's self I must admit was very well made and thought out. I did like the 'underland' that burton created, it was very artistically appealing. I thought Mia played her Alice quite well, I also found Helena Bonham Carter rather quirky (as she ofthen is in movies) as the Red Queen. As much as I love the Mad Hatter charater, I just couldn't get into Johnny Depp playing him. Rating it out of five smiley faces I give it

i loved it. It seemed to show a little bit more of a brave alice than in TtLG when the white knight had to save her, and it made it happy. I was happy with the Bandersnatch, i thought it was cute, and i loved that he kept the Rocking Horse Fly in it, and the Dragon Fly of course. I liked the Blue Caterpillar and how Depp played Hatter (which is a big deal because i hate Johnny Depp *hides to avoid pots, pans, rocks, socks, nails, hammers, swords, air rocks, and bullets* <3)
I love it, so i give it a rating of <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 out of 5 <3.

I didn't see it, but my friend and her boyfriend's friends saw it. She said that it was... colorful... As she says, there was no big conflict. When she had to get a sword or something, she had no problem getting it. That got her pretty upset.
I told her that everyone on here were getting upset that it might be like LGW, and apparently, one of her boyfriend's friends read it and told everyone in the group it was VERY similar to the books. He said that it was almost like he tried to do his own version of LGW. I wasn't really planning on seeing it in theaters, and now I definitely don't.

I just realized something about the movie... I was just randomly looking at the map of Wondernations and noticed that one of the areas on the map was called "Unterlan" then I realized that Tim Burton used Unterland (wonderland) in his movie. That has got to be a blatant copy from LGW and is now really making me mad. I think Tim took Unterland from Franks Unterlan
I think Tim needs a kick up the butt for that... that got me slightly enraged that he has the nerve to take something from LGW like that. Anyone else notice it? http://picasaweb.google.com/BlueDevi...55392816374450 not sure if anyone can see that but Unterlan is at the bottom right of the map of Wondernations.

Pre-production for movies usually takes several years. So probably when Timmy was first starting to work on his Alice in Wonderland, it was right around the same time LGW came out. So to assume that Tim copied Frank is to assume that he found this brand new book that just came out from a new author, and he read it and decided, "I'm gonna rip this and make it into the movie I'm planning." I find that highly doubtful, myself. Besides. Bear one other thing in mind: This is TIM BURTON. He has got to be the most pupular/influential director currently out there. Most everything he makes is a hit. The day that he of all people has to stoop so low as to rip off other peoples' ideas for his movies is the day that we have a funeral for Hollywood. I think it was just cioncidence. Disappointment for us die-hard fans of LGW is to be expected, but dragging Timmy's name through the mud isn't going to solve anything.

Well, glad you think that. I'm gonna see it on Thursday. Whether I like it or not from a movie point of view, I still hold to my belief that it highly unlikely that Timmy stole the idea from Frank. =)

LGW Unterlan is so much better than Tim's Unterland anyway :3

I'm simply wondering as to why the name "Unterland" would have this sort of connection in the first place. What makes it so... special. Why would both Mr. Beddor and Mr. Burton use that name...
